Wallkill River Blues out now on Brown Trout Records
Jake Toth is an American multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Denver, Colorado.
The songs that became Wallkill River Blues took shape, as Toth states, “once I was in Colorado, wandering the city, hiking the mountains, fishing for trout. They are, in a sense, reflections of my time living in the Hudson Valley of New York—reflections of my childhood, adulthood, and a time that is no more.”
Following its release, Toth returned to his roots with The Phoenicia Tapes, a stripped-down folk EP recorded live in a cabin in Phoenicia, NY, on the night before trout season. With only vocals, guitar, and the sound of rain on a tin roof, the EP offers an intimate glimpse into his songwriting, serving as a thank-you to listeners who supported Wallkill River Blues.
